Check your Backup Files with Veeam Backup Validator

Veeam Backup Validator is an unknown feature that allows checking the consistency of a backup created with Veeam Backup and Replication. You can easily check your backup files with a command line tool located into the installation folder of the software: Veeam.Backup.Validator.exe (path: C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication\Backup). This feature is not a SureBackup job! A SureBackup job is an automated task for recovery verification by starting the Virtual Machines from the backup file. The SureBackup job aggregates all settings and policies of the recovery verification task, such as application group and Virtual Lab to be used, VM backups that must be verified in the virtual lab and so on. Veeam Backup Validator is an alternative if a Standard license is used by your Veeam Backup Server or if you don’t have the required resources (compute) to create a Virtual Lab.

Step by Step Guide Veeam B&R 9.5 U1 Upgrade

UPDATE 2017-01-20:

Download Veeam B&R 9.5 Update 1 final release: here.
______

Veeam released Veeam Backup and Replication 9.5 Update 1 RC, which contains one significant improvement: VMware vSphere 6.5 support! One time your Veeam Backup Server will be updated, you can backup Virtual Machines running on VMware vSphere 6.5. Basically, you can contact Veeam Support to get your hands on the Update 1 build of version 9.5 with vSphere 6.5 support (open a case at veeam.com to get and download the Release Candidate). Note: The RC version is only for testing. In the word from @Gotstev, Veeam told they also made a big step towards high-resolution monitors support – and while there’s still work to be done, you will notice that the UI became actually usable on DPI settings above 100%. This did require changing the UI font, resizing all dialogs and adjusting placement for some UI controls – so you will notice slightly different UI look after installing the update. Please do let Veeam Support know if you spot any UI inconsistencies brought by these changes that we may have missed so that we could correct those in the GA code.

You can learn more about Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 new features here.
