Step by Step Guide Veeam B&R 8 Upgrade (v7 to v8)

This week, Veeam released Veeam Backup and Replication version 8, which contains some significant improvements such as backup to tape from Veeam Backup Server deployed directly on a Virtual Machine, support of NetApp technologies (Veeam Explorer), new free product named “Endpoint” (backup of your workstations), Cloud connect, Failover Plan, WAN Accelerator for replication, End-to-end encryption, Veeam Explorer for AD and SQL, and more.

VMCE Certification – V7 to V8!

Today Veeam published the upgrade rules for VMCE7 certification to version 8. Students who complete the VMCE 7 certification program will be entitled, with a specific restricted access, to the free online “VMCE 8 – What’s New” course on the Veeam.com website. These students will then need to pass the VMCE 8 proctored exam at an available Pearson Vue test center to upgrade their certificate from VMCE 7 to VMCE 8. This must occur in the allowable certification maintenance time according to the certification rules below. Good luck. 🙂

Veeam v8 : NetApp Snapshot Support

In the upcoming Veeam Backup & Replication v8 release, Veeam announced a new feature : NetApp Snapshot Support. NetApp integration will be included in Veeam Backup & Replication v8, which will be generally available in Q4 of 2014.

Imagine Cup 2013, Médaille d’Or !

Comme vous le savez, je porte le projet “Original Network – To Build a Smarter IT Infrastructure” depuis 2 ans maintenant !

Quoi? Quel projet? De quoi parles-tu?!” 🙂

Original Network est une idée innovante qui consiste à réduire la consommation énergétique des systèmes d’information des entreprises en proposant une solution à basse consommation utilisant les énergies renouvelables. Ce nouveau système répond à une aspiration RSE de plus en plus marquée au sein des entreprises : réduire leurs coûts de fonctionnement tout en préservant l’environnement (Green IT).

Grâce à ce projet, nous avons (moi, Eric, Didier, Antoine et Alex) été Champions de France dans la catégorie “Innovation” lors de l’Imagine Cup édition 2013 à Paris. Ce concours international est organisé par Microsoft Corporation.
