Here’s the fresh Veeam white paper that explains how to correctly backup and restore VCSA and PSC in various deployment scenarios – both simple and complex. This is a very welcome white paper because Veeam found that the information on the Internet is quite spotty and often simply poor – so thanks to Michael White for putting this one together (Backup and Recovery of vSphere VCSA and Platform Services Controllers).

Veeam Backup for Office 365 v1.5 Overview

Yesterday, Veeam released Backup for Microsoft Office 365 v1.5. Organizations have a solution to many of their business requirements, challenges, and requests (backup online, backup of Exchange on-premise, VBO proxy deployment, REST API and GUI, new support for regions such as German, Chinese, US government etc., worker threads / bandwidth limit, scheduling changes). Service providers are now given the ability to build-out a new Backup as a Service solution for their customers’ Office 365 email data (post of Mike Resseler).

In the last word from Gotstev, he has written about ransomware story affecting a Veeam customer. No matter how similar these stories are to one another, someone can learn something new from each one, thus preventing the same disaster from happening to your environment. Especially with stories like this one, which deals with hackers who are trying to be helpful so to speak. These folks tend to explain to the victim how they got in once the ransom has been paid, without ever being asked to do so…
