Varonis Elite

Data is everywhere:

There is not only much more data, there’s much more data everywhere. Today, apps and data may be located anywhere in the world in private Clouds, public Clouds, managed Clouds, SaaS Clouds, locked in legacy apps and disparate databases with fragmentary ownership, trapped in data silos, lost amongst a myriad of often incompatible devices, systems, and processes. In addition, more and more data is being generated from emerging sources like edge computing and the Internet of Things (IoT). We are entering an age where data is produced by nearly everything cars, thermostats, and household appliances as well as servers, workstations, and mobile devices.

The new expectation for data in today’s enterprise:

As the importance of data has grown to drive every aspect of our digital lives, so has the need for solutions that can do far more than ensure its availability. In this new reality where enterprise data is scattered across many different Clouds and systems, ensuring availability across the entire enterprise becomes both much more critical and much more challenging. So does getting visibility into all this data across all the nodes where it resides and the networks across which it moves… Organizations are struggling just to know where all their data is. It’s even more challenging to be certain that it’s recoverable in the event of an outage, attack, loss, or theft. That it’s available for the predictive analytics that helps them gain a competitive advantage and improve business performance. That it’s in compliance as new regulations like GDPR go into effect anywhere across the globe. And that it’s always available for services and users. Availability is ultimately important for every enterprise.

Today, availability is based on policy-based mechanisms where data is often manually relocated to optimize cost and performance or to recover from a security intrusion. Tomorrow’s availability must evolve to a more autonomous model where the system reacts and adjusts automatically to any significant changes in the behavior of data, apps, or users anywhere across the enterprise. This level of automation is a big leap from where we are today. How can we bridge that gap from where we are to where we need to go? Keep in mind that Data Protection, Data Governance and Data Risk Assessment are crucial for ensuring the security of YOUR data…

Varonis Elite program:

This community program is specifically for Varonis active and engaged customers and partners. The goal is to bring together cybersecurity, Varonis experts and enthusiasts and give you new ways to engage with each other and Varonis. Not only will Varonis Elite members have awesome opportunities like monthly meetings that go over industry hot topics or Varonis products, but ll also gain access to a private place to talk amongst each other and interact with Varonis product experts.

Then, September, 26th, I will be speaking at aOS Monaco on Microsoft 365 Data Protection with Jeff Angama. It’s an honor to be an #aOS Speaker.
