Microsoft’s Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) is Windows’ built-in infrastructure for application backups. As a native Windows service, VSS facilitates creating a consistent view of application data during the course of a backup. VSS relies on coordination between VSS requestors, writers and providers for quiescence, or “to make quiet,” a disk volume, so that a backup can be successfully obtained without data corruption. Native VSS is used to backup VMware and Hyper-V VMs and to restore them to a precise point in time…
Hi, today I have the honor to share with you a great news. I have been selected for the Veeam Vanguard program 2016 for the first year!
What is “Veeam Vanguard” program?
The Veeam Vanguard program is a selection of experts (world wide) that Veeam Software has considered relevant to promote the values of Veeam (understand the products and are closest peers in IT). This program will be both much like other award programs you may be familiar with yet different in our own way (for example “MVP” for Microsoft). Some Vanguards are bloggers, others are very active users (Veeam forum), others are Spiceworks where users share content and answers about Veeam etc. The best way to follow Veeam Vanguard is to follow the official Twitter account @VeeamVanguard and hashtag #VeeamVanguard .
I will participate in a live webcast in french with Veeam for presenting new main features in Veeam B&R 9. The online event will take place Thursday, April 7 at 11:00 AM. Duration: 1 hour. Speakers: Régis Etienne (Territory Account Manager South-East Veeam Software) and Christopher Glémot (Systems Engineer for SCALA & Veeam Certified Engineer – VMCE). You can register here 🙂
You tried to create a server on a “Compellent SCv 2000” storage (or an other SAN model) with Dell Enterprise Manager Client version 220.127.116.110. But you encounter this problem: “Error. The selected operating system cannot be used with SAS HBAs. You must select and operating system that supports ALUA.” This message appears when you try to create a server like VMware ESXi 6.0 operating system (or other) with the HBA that the server uses to send IO requests to the storage center and for mapping volumes.
I have not found the solution on Internet so I will explain you below. ;).
